Village of Waterloo
Waterloo is located in Seneca County mid-way between the northern end of Cayuga and Seneca Lakes, the largest of New York's Finger Lakes. Waterloo developed on the banks of the Cayuga-Seneca Canal, part of New York's Canal System. The Village is probably most famous as the "Birthplace of Memorial Day", but is also where the Declaration of Sentiments, which sparked the Women's Rights Movement in the mid-1800's, was drafted. |
